Do you need long-term home care and/or pet care? PLUS rent? (Seattle/Eastside/Snohomish)

August 19th, 2009 admin No comments

Quiet, mature (over 40), contract-employed couple (non-smokers) with a sweet, well behaved therapy-temperament dog (ten years old) seeks furnished or partially furnished Seattle area or Eastside sublet. Dates are extremely flexible (mid-September would be perfect). No shares, please. We are also willing to consider opportunities outside the Seattle area and will occasionally consider an international assignment.

We have extensive petsitting, housesitting and subletting experience and are also open to unique caretaking situations. Impeccable current, local, and international references as well as excellent credit report information are available. (One of our clients asked to include us in their living will as guardians for their pets.) Our most recent assignments have been a nine month contract at a Green Lake Craftsman home to care for the pets (17 year old kitty and 7 year old lab) of an owner who had to be with her out-of-state dying mother and a second long-term commitment on a small lakeside celebrity estate with both outdoor and indoor menageries (their global travel plans never materialized).

We have volunteered with various animal organizations, including the Seattle Humane Society, Pawsitive Alliance, and Best Friends Animal Society and have assisted at dog socialization, training, and adoption events. We are independent petcare professionals with a genuine love of animals offering a calm and loving environment for your pets in their own familiar surroundings.

Since we both telecommute, one of us can almost always be at home to provide personal care and human companionship for a high maintenance or ailing pet. And our dog helps keep your pet(s) happy and socialized, eliminating the need for doggy daycare. Our dog is a very gentle Border/Golden mix with a calm and quiet Golden temperament. He is quite content in nearly any living situation (from condos to country settings) and is a great companion animal to dogs as well as cats.

We are very detail oriented and offer customized care for your pets and home in your absence. In addition to caring for your pet(s) at home, we can take them to vet and groomer appointments. We have experience caring for animals with health or diet concerns and are accustomed to giving pets oral, subcutaneous, and topical medications. We can also oversee staff (gardeners, maids, etc) if necessary, provide for indoor and outdoor plant care, mail forwarding, and arrange for any other home maintenance services (an older water heater decided to explode in one of our recent housesit/petsits).

Our rates vary and depend on the number of animals, level of care required, type of housing situation, additional services provided, and duration and can be deducted from our rent. We are insured, professional, independent petcare providers and do not charge agency fees. We’re previous homeowners and will care of your home as if it were our own.

Our combined skills and services also include:

* on-site (live-in) assistance with your inherited residential property (inventory/organizing/shipping/overseeing repairs, etc.)

* home or office organizational projects

* household and personal administration

* virtual assistance: providing administrative, technical, or creative assistance

* completing tedious, time-consuming tasks on your personal or professional to-do lists

* project management for entrepreneurs

* computer hardware and software installation, configuration, and support

* writing and editing

* photography and videography

We are willing to barter any of the above services (in addition to petcare and housesitting) as well as pay rent for the ideal sublet. We do require a reliable, high-speed internet connection as our projects and contracts, often with major software companies, rely heavily on e-mail and internet-based file transfers.

Your privacy is assured and we are happy to sign confidentiality or non-disclosure agreements.

Kindly send an e-mail to the above address to arrange an interview.

House not selling? Need caretakers plus rent? (Eastside/Snohomish/Seattle)

Do you really want to be a landlord? Are you ready to deal with: tenant requests and complaints (”the power went out” or “the toilet is plugged up”); house maintenance (”the water heater is leaking”); storing your personal possessions for the time you’re gone; and restoring your home to a state that’s livable for you? While the income from renting your home might seem significant, you need to consider and evaluate the hidden and intangible costs of renting your home.

Caretaking is a better solution for you if:

-You’re going to be gone for a fixed time (6 months, 1 year, 3 years) and don’t want to leave your property vacant or unoccupied

-You don’t want to be a landlord (caretakers are not renters and take care of the property for you)

-You plan on moving back into your home, or selling it when the market is more favorable.

-You have furniture and other belongings you don’t want to put into storage for an extended time.

-You’d like to make some minor improvements, such as painting, to give the house a better market appeal.

-You want to have some income from the property, but your priority is having it well cared for.

-You want to remain insured at a “homeowner’s” rate which is not available for vacant properties.

-Your inherited property is in probate and needs to be occupied to be insured.

- You have a beloved pet, or pets, that you can’t take with you (we do have a sweet, well-behaved dog of our own).

We are experienced, independent, insured caretakers and are currently available this fall for a long-term assignment.

Impeccable current, local, and international references as well as excellent credit report information are available.

Kindly send a detailed email to the above address to arrange an interview.
